Director of Montenegrin Investment Agency Dejan Medojević and Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Brazil Eduardo Botelja Barbosa had a meeting today in the premises of Montenegrin Investment Agency, where it was assessed that Montenegro and Brazil have traditionally good realtions that need to be strengthened through intensification of cooperation in the economic field
The Director of the Agency presented the activities of the Investment Agency, as well as the future plans of the Agency which are focused on realization of public-private partnerships, investments and the promotion of the investment potential of Montenegro. The Director of the Investment Agency also presented the key investment advantages that make Montenegro an attractive destination and the importance of the economic citizenship program implemented by the Agency.
The Ambassador of Brazil pointed out that Montenegro and Brazil have continuously good relations, but that additional efforts are needed in order to increase trade, especially considering that Brazil is eighth largest economy in the world. Furthermore, he underlined that after the period of isolation during the pandemic, and with the mass immunization of the population, it is vital to present Montenegro as an attractive tourist destination. The Ambassador of Brazil pointed out the interest that Brazilian tourists have in Montenegro, and in that context he highlighted a significant event of cultural promotion of Montenegro which was organized in Sao Paulo in 2018. Thanks ti that event, Brazil had the opportunity to get acquainted with the cultural and tourist offer of Montenegro which consequently caused the interest of Brazilian tourists in Montenegro to increase.
The meeting concluded that developing and intensifying cooperation is extremely important, especially in challenging times such as ongoing COVID-19 virus pandemic.
