Economic citizenship has long been recognized in many countries around the world as an important instrument for attracting investment

The program for acquiring Montenegrin citizenship through investment is implemented by the Agency on the basis of the Decision on the criteria, method and procedure for selection of persons who may acquire montenegrin citizenship by admission for the purpose of implementation of special investment programs of special importance for the business and economic interests of Montenegro (“Official Gazette of Montenegro”, no. 79 of December 7, 2018, 12/20, 143/21, 68/22). Since the duration of the Decision was limited until December 31 st 2022, it is not possible to submit new Requests for acquiring Montenegrin citizenship through this program after the specified date.
