{"id":5020,"date":"2025-10-17T13:19:40","date_gmt":"2025-10-17T12:19:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mia.gov.me\/memorandum-of-understanding-signed-between-the-montenegrin-investment-agency-and-cwp-europe\/"},"modified":"2025-12-19T16:29:52","modified_gmt":"2025-12-19T15:29:52","slug":"memorandum-of-understanding-signed-between-the-montenegrin-investment-agency-and-cwp-europe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mia.gov.me\/en\/memorandum-of-understanding-signed-between-the-montenegrin-investment-agency-and-cwp-europe\/","title":{"rendered":"Memorandum of Understanding Signed Between the Montenegrin Investment Agency and CWP Europe"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1600\" height=\"900\" src=\"https:\/\/mia.gov.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/image00049.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5017\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p>As part of the EU\u2013Montenegro Investment Conference <strong>\u201cSmart Growth, Green Future: Accelerating Investment in Montenegro\u201d<\/strong> held from October 13\u201315 at The <strong>Chedi <\/strong>Hotel, <strong>Lu\u0161tica<\/strong> Bay, the Montenegrin Investment Agency (MIA) and <strong>CWP<\/strong> Europe signed a Joint Declaration of Support for the development of the <strong>Montechevo<\/strong> Solar Power Plant and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Montenegro.  <\/p>\n\n<p>The Memorandum was signed by <strong>Mirjana Koji\u0107<\/strong>, Acting Director of the Montenegrin Investment Agency, and <strong>Maja Turkovi\u0107<\/strong>, Executive Vice President of CWP Europe.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>CWP Europe<\/strong> plans to implement an investment worth <strong>over \u20ac1.1 billion<\/strong>, which includes the construction of the <strong>400 MW Montechevo<\/strong> Solar Power Plant and an <strong>accompanying battery energy storage system <\/strong>in Montenegro.<\/p>\n\n<p>The goal of this cooperation is to support the development of solar energy projects and electricity storage systems in Montenegro, through the application of advanced technologies and European standards in the field of renewable energy.<\/p>\n\n<p>CWP Europe is one of the leading clean energy companies in the region, with extensive experience in developing solar and wind energy projects across the Western Balkans and the European Union.<\/p>\n\n<p>The<strong> Montechevo <\/strong>Project will integrate solar energy production with a large-scale battery storage facility directly connected to Montenegro\u2019s new <strong>400 kV <\/strong>transmission infrastructure, maximizing the use of the country\u2019s strategic interconnections \u2014 including the high-voltage submarine (HVDC) cable to Italy.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cBy signing this memorandum, Montenegro reaffirms its openness to strategic investments that connect the energy sector with the green transition.
