The Director of the Montenegrin Investment Agency, Dejan Medojević, held a meeting today with the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates, Nabila Abdelaziz Naser Said Alšamsi, at the premises of the Investment Agency of Montenegro. It was assessed at the meeting that Montenegro and the United Arab Emirates have traditionally excellent bilateral relations, which generate increasingly meaningful cooperation with economic relations that are on the rise.
The Director of the Investment Agency presented the affairs of the Agency and pointed out that according to its competencies, the Agency is a catalyst for new business opportunities and the first meeting point for foreign investors in Montenegro. The Director of the Investment Agency also showed the key advantages of the investment environment in Montenegro, the program of economic citizenship implemented by the Agency, as well as the reasons why Montenegro decided to use the PPP (Public-Private Partnership) model more intensively.
The Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates underlined that relations with Montenegro are based on the principle of openness and continuous cooperation, but that despite the investments so far, there is a significant space for improving cooperation, as well as for strengthening trade. The Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates especially pointed out the interest of the investors of the United Arab Emirates for the sector of agriculture, with focus on food production and food processing, in the northern part of Montenegro. Furthermore, there are also potentials for cooperation in other areas such as infrastructure and services.
The Montenegrin Investment Agency, in coordination with local institutions, obliged to obtain all necessary data for the agricultural sector in order to present all investment opportunities in the best possible way to potential investors. The Agency emphasized the openness to all initiatives of investors from UAE and the availability for the preparation of all relevant information on projects they may be interested in.
At the end of the meeting, representatives of the Montenegrin Investment Agency held a presentation on investment potentials and programs that characterize Montenegro as an attractive investment destination.
