The Ambassador of France in Montenegro, Mr. Christian Timonie was hosted by the Acting Director of the Montenegrin Investment Agency, Mr. Mladen Grgić and his assosiates. Mr. Grgić informed Mr. Timonie about the role, competencies and goals of the Montenegrin Investment Agency, and emphasized the openness and readiness of the Agency to provide all necessary assistance to French companies that are interested in investing or expanding their business on the Montenegrin market.
As a focus of potential cooperation with French companies, the tourism, energy, information technology and transport sectors were discussed at the meeting. The importance of public-private partnership in the implementation of infrastructure projects was especially highlighted, as a model of long-term cooperation between the public and private sector, which is regulated according to all European standards by the Montenegrin Law on Public-Private Partnership. Ambassador Timonie emphasized France’s support to Montenegro’s efforts to attract French companies and expressed the Embassy’s readiness to provide the necessary assistance in that process.
The meeting with the Ambassador of France was a continuation of activities to deepen cooperation with French companies, after the Montenegrin Investment Agency presented the investment potentials and programs of Montenegro for the Association of French Businessmen – MEDEF, the leading network of entrepreneurs in France, at a webinar organized on October 29, as well as for representatives of various French companies from the sectors of tourism, energy, infrastructure, logistics and finance.
