Montenegro has set a record in Europe in proportion to its population: Almost ten thousand citizens vaccinated in a day

During the first day of mass immunization against coronavirus in Montenegro, almost ten thousand citizens received the vaccine, the Ministry of Health announced tonight.

“Of which, 7,784 first doses and 1,482 second doses were administered. Montenegro thus set a record in Europe for the number of doses given in one day in proportion to the population. According to available data, the record holder so far was Germany, which vaccinated one million people in one day, which is 1.2 percent of the total population. Montenegro, however, vaccinated 1.5 percent of the population today” it is emphasized in the announcement of the Ministry of Health.

Minister of Health Jelena Borovinić Bojović said that Montenegro is among the few countries in the world which, in proportion to the number of inhabitants, has the capacity to vaccinate almost 10 thousand citizens in a single day.

“This is the success of the entire country, with an emphasis on citizens whose awareness of the importance of vaccination is for the ‘ten’,” said the Minister of Health Jelena Borovinić Bojović.

In the statement it is said that in Montenegro, by the fourth of May, a total of 74,947 doses of vaccines against the coronavirus were given.

“Out of that, 48,719 citizens received the first vaccine, and 26,226 have been completely vaccinated,” the statement concludes.
