Acting Director of Montenegrin Investment Agency Mladen Grgić and Assistant Director for Promotion of Foreign Investments and International Cooperation Andrej Lakić, today held a meeting with the Director of Directorate for Cooperation with Diaspora and Emigrants Mr. Seid Hadžić. Hadzic welcomed the representatives of the Montenegrin Investment Agency and expressed satisfaction with the interest of this institution in promoting future cooperation with the Directorate. At the meeting they shared positive impressions from the recently held Business Forum and congratulated on the quality organization. One of the main topics was the common endeavor to deep cooperation between institutions, in order to enable potential investors easier access to invest in Montenegro, as well as the sharing of certain investment proposals that are of mutual interest, both for the state and the investor. At the beginning of the meeting, Hadzic informed his interlocutors about the work of the Directorate and stated that in addition to preserving the state identity, culture, tradition and nurturing ties between the diaspora and the homeland, the Directorate has a strong desire to strengthen economic cooperation with our diaspora that wants to invest in Montenegro. He presented the possibilities of potential investors in diaspora who contacted the Directorate after the Business Forum and expressed the fact that the outcome of that will probably be the first investment that is currently planned in the north of Montenegro, which will be announced very soon. He also stated that the Directorate for Cooperation with Diaspora and Emigrants expects from the Montenegrin Investment Agency, in accordance with the possibilities, to help investors from Diaspora with the procedure for the implementation of the planned investments. Acting Director Grgić also emphasized that it is extremely important to work on the greatest possible engagement of private-public partnership in order to reduce business risk for potential investors and boost the economy at the same time. The participants agreed that Montenegro has a lot of untapped potential, and that the north of this country, rich in a wide range of resources, is one of the key elements for the development of the economy and economic prosperity in the country. Further steps of cooperation on projects focused on investors from our diaspora was also agreed, with the aim of developing economic potential at the local level, in cooperation with the local self-government. The meeting was held in a pleasant atmosphere with productive dialogue which is the result of the exchange of numerous ideas planned for realization, and the first activities of mutual cooperation are expected soon.
