Meeting with World Bank Communication Experts on the Just Transition of the Pljevlja Mining Region

A meeting with representatives of the World Bank was held at the premises of the Montenegrin Investment Agency, focusing on the topic of the just transition of the mining region, with a special emphasis on Pljevlja and the investment opportunities that this process can generate.

The Agency was represented by Merlina Tošić, Assistant Director for the Public-Private Partnership Sector, and Nenad Radović, Head of the Foreign Investment Promotion and Investment Services Sector.

The World Bank delegation included Jose-Manuel Barras, Communication Expert for the development of the forthcoming Just Transition Plan (JT Plan), as well as Nebojša Jablan, Jasmina Hadžić, and Talis Tebecis.

During the meeting, participants discussed ways to attract green and sustainable investments within the framework of the just transition process, with the goal of supporting economic growth in northern Montenegro, energy transformation, and the development of new industries in regions traditionally dependent on mining.

The Agency presented its ongoing activities in the fields of energy, infrastructure, and green investment projects, and emphasized its readiness to cooperate with international partners in implementing initiatives that will contribute to a fair and sustainable transition of Montenegro toward a modern and competitive economy.
