On January 22 22. and 23, 2026, the Montenegrin Investment Agency and the Union of Municipalities of Montenegro, in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance and consultants engaged through the SIGMA Programme, organized a workshop dedicated to Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) and the development of potential PPP projects at the local level. The workshop was held at the premises of the Assembly of the Capital City of Podgorica.

The event brought together representatives of numerous municipalities in Montenegro with the aim of strengthening the capacities of local governments, fostering the exchange of knowledge, and identifying concrete projects that may contribute to sustainable local development.

Through expert presentations and open discussions, participants addressed the legal, economic, and institutional aspects of the PPP model, as well as the next steps in its application at the local level.
