About the project
Accelerating Investment in Montenegro
The Accelerating Investment in Montenegro (AIM) project represents one of the most important instruments for improving the investment climate and economic development of Montenegro. Through digitalization, innovation, targeted promotion, and reforms, the project lays the foundation for long-term growth in investments and strengthening the competitiveness of the Montenegrin economy.
AIM is a strategic project implemented by the Investment Agency of Montenegro and financed through a combination of an EU grant and national contribution. The European Union has provided a grant in the amount of EUR 1,000,000 as non-repayable funds aimed at strengthening the investment environment, digital tools, and the innovation ecosystem of Montenegro. In addition, Montenegro has secured a national contribution of EUR 990,000 through the Innovation Fund, bringing the total project value to EUR 1,990,000.
As an EU grant, these funds represent non-repayable financial support from the European Union, intended for the implementation of targeted activities that enhance economic competitiveness, improve investment promotion, and enable faster removal of regulatory barriers for investors through the IPA III instrument.
For the purpose of implementing the project, the Investment Agency of Montenegro conducted a procedure for selecting a consultant who will provide technical and professional support in carrying out the planned project activities. The procedure was conducted in accordance with European Union regulations, and the selection committee consisted of representatives of the Agency and external consultants.
Project objectives:
- Increase the inflow of foreign investments through targeted promotion of Montenegro as an attractive investment destination
- Strengthen the capacity of domestic enterprises and connect them with investors from the EU and other markets
- Remove regulatory and administrative barriers that limit investments
- Develop the innovation ecosystem in line with the Smart Specialisation Strategy
