The Montenegrin Investment Agency participated in the event “Presentation of Montenegro’s Investment Potential”, held at the Chamber of Commerce of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and jointly organized by the Embassy of Montenegro to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Chamber of Commerce of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
The Montenegrin Investment Agency was represented by Mirjana Kojić, Acting Director, and Kristina Vuković, Independent Advisor I at the Investment Promotion and International Cooperation Sector, who presented Montenegro’s investment environment, the country’s key competitive advantages, and investment opportunities across strategic sectors.
The event brought together representatives of public institutions, the diplomatic corps, and more than 20 companies from a wide range of industries, including finance, energy, tourism, construction, real estate, information and communication technologies, and satellite communications, demonstrating the strong interest of the Luxembourg business community in Montenegro’s investment potential.
The event was opened by Cindy Tereba, Chief International Officer of the Chamber of Commerce of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, who highlighted that this year marks the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Montenegro and Luxembourg. She emphasized that the excellent relations between the two countries provide a solid foundation for strengthening economic and investment cooperation. She also underlined the significance of the recent visit of the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milojko Spajić, to Luxembourg, as well as the opening of Montenegro’s Diplomatic Office in Luxembourg, describing both developments as important milestones for further deepening bilateral economic ties.
The participants were also addressed by Prof. Dr. Olivera Injac, Ambassador of Montenegro to the Kingdom of Belgium, who expressed her appreciation to the Chamber of Commerce of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg for its partnership in organizing the event. She emphasized that the strong bilateral relations between the two countries should be accompanied by closer economic cooperation. Ambassador Injac also referred to Montenegro’s European integration process, acknowledged Luxembourg’s continued support for Montenegro’s EU accession path, and invited representatives of the Luxembourg business community to explore Montenegro’s potential as a reliable investment destination.
In her address, Mirjana Kojić, Acting Director of the Montenegrin Investment Agency, emphasized that the excellent bilateral relations between Montenegro and Luxembourg provide a strong foundation for enhancing economic and investment cooperation between the two countries. She underlined the importance of foreign direct investment for Montenegro’s economic development, highlighting the country’s favourable investment momentum as the most advanced candidate for European Union membership. She reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment to transforming potential cooperation into concrete investment projects by providing comprehensive institutional support to investors throughout every stage of the investment process. Ms. Kojić also invited participants to attend the AIM 2026 Montenegro Investment Conference, which will be held in October 2026.
During the presentation, Kristina Vuković, Independent Advisor I at the Investment Promotion and International Cooperation Sector, presented Montenegro’s investment opportunities, with a particular focus on tourism, energy, transport infrastructure, agriculture, and information and communication technologies. The presentation provided an overview of current investment projects, Montenegro’s competitive advantages, tax system, investment incentives, and ongoing reforms aimed at improving the country’s business environment. Particular emphasis was placed on renewable energy development, major infrastructure projects, tourism development, and successful examples of foreign investment in Montenegro.
Following the official programme, numerous bilateral meetings were held with representatives of companies operating in the fields of finance, energy, tourism, construction, real estate, information and communication technologies, and satellite communications. During these discussions, investment opportunities in Montenegro and ongoing investment projects were presented, while new business contacts were established with potential partners. Company representatives expressed particular interest in renewable energy, tourism infrastructure, information technologies, and financial services, while both sides agreed to continue communication through the exchange of additional information and the exploration of concrete opportunities for future cooperation.
The event once again confirmed the importance of promoting Montenegro’s investment potential internationally and highlighted the role of the Montenegrin Investment Agency in presenting the country’s investment opportunities to the international business community. The contacts established and the strong interest expressed by participants provide a solid basis for further strengthening economic cooperation between Montenegro and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
The Montenegrin Investment Agency, in coordination with the Embassy of Montenegro to the Kingdom of Belgium, will continue direct communication with the companies that expressed interest during the event through the exchange of additional information, the organization of bilateral meetings, and the facilitation of contacts with relevant institutions and partners in Montenegro. The relationships established and the interest shown by participating companies provide a strong foundation for further enhancing economic cooperation between Montenegro and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, with the expectation that the discussions initiated during this event will lead to concrete investment initiatives and future projects of mutual interest.
