






On April 29 29. and 30, 2026, the Japan–Montenegro Business Forum was held in Podgorica, organized by the Investment Agency of Montenegro, the Ministry of Public Works of Montenegro, and Japan External Trade Organization.
The event brought together representatives of the public and private sectors from both countries, with the aim of strengthening economic ties and creating opportunities for concrete investment projects.
During the two-day program, in addition to presentations of investment potential and the institutional framework, visits to strategically important locations were organized, as well as B2B meetings between companies. The forum gathered numerous Japanese and Montenegrin companies, which, through direct discussions, explored opportunities for cooperation in the fields of infrastructure, energy, tourism, and industry.
Prime Minister Milojko Spajić emphasized that Montenegro remains committed to improving the business environment and attracting credible investors, highlighting the importance of partnership with Japan as one of the global leaders in innovation, technology, and sustainable development.
The presence of renowned Japanese companies, including Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Mitsubishi Corporation, Itochu Corporation, and Hitachi, further confirmed the mutual interest in strengthening economic relations and developing long-term projects. The forum organizers assessed that this type of meeting represents an important step toward more concrete economic cooperation, based on direct business communication and institutional support, laying a solid foundation for future investment initiatives between Montenegro and Japan.
