The director of the Montenegrin Investment Agency, Snežana Djurović, together with her team, met today with the representatives of JETRO from the office in Vienna, Tatsuo Kamino, the general director and Manuel Kaneka.
JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization) is a Japanese government agency that promotes international trade and investment between Japan and other countries.
The topic of the meeting was the definition of concrete activities for the improvement of cooperation between the Agency and JETRO, based on the conclusions of the meeting of high-ranking officials of Montenegro, led by the Prime Minister of Montenegro and the official state and business delegation of Japan, held in April this year.
The cooperation between JETRO and the Montenegrin Investment Agency of covers several key areas with the aim of strengthening economic ties between Japan and Montenegro, attracting investments and improving bilateral trade. Webinars and connecting companies are planned for the application of innovative technologies in sectors of strategic importance for improving the competitiveness of the Montenegrin economy.
Potential forms of cooperation discussed during the meeting include connecting business communities through business forums, conferences and bilateral meetings between Montenegrin and Japanese companies, creating opportunities for partnerships and joint projects, as well as the exchange of knowledge and expertise.
Also, JETRO expressed interest in cooperation and support for the further development of the innovation ecosystem in Montenegro.
Among other things, Japanese companies are leaders in the development of technologies for energy efficiency and sustainable development, and cooperation between JETRO and the Investment Agency may include joint projects in the field of green energy, recycling and environmental protection. The Director of the Montenegrin Investment Agency of emphasized the importance of cooperation with JETRO in attracting investments and enabling Japanese companies to better understand business opportunities in Montenegro. Both sides expressed their readiness for further work on the creation of specific initiatives that will contribute to mutual economic development.
