The first public-private partnership agreement in Montenegro for the construction of the hotel “Lokanda”

Director of the Montenegrin Investment Agency, Snežana Đurović, and Assistant Director of the Sector for Public-Private Partnership, Merlina Tošić, attended the signing ceremony of the first public-private partnership agreement in Montenegro for the construction of the hotel “Lokanda” in the Capital of Cetinje.

The first such contract in Montenegro was signed by the Mayor of the Capital of Cetinje, Nikola Djuraskovic, and the director of the company “Talija Company” d.o.o. from Herceg Novi, Nikola Milic.

During the ceremony, it was emphasized that the implementation of this project is in line with the goals and priorities of strategic documents. The project will, above all, contribute to the realization of the public interest in culture through the renovation of a building that has the status of cultural property. Also, the planned interventions within the boundaries of the Historic Center of Cetinje will contribute to the improvement of local infrastructure and tourist capacities.

On the basis of the signed contract, the next steps for the implementation of the project were defined, with the mutual satisfaction of the partners. It was emphasized that it is especially important that this project is implemented through the public-private partnership model, which is a novelty in Montenegro. This project can be an initial capsule and an incentive for other local governments and private partners to use the same model to valorize their resources. Therefore, the promotion of investment potentials and public-private partnerships, as well as attracting reliable investors, remain at the top of the priorities, as joint efforts strengthen the economy of Montenegro.
